Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC) has been crowned one of the winners at the Africa Housing Awards 2023, during a gala held on December 17th in Abuja, Nigeria.

KMRC bagged the Housing Finance Organization of the Year Award, once of the most sought after accolades, beating several contenders in the industry who were eying the prestigious award. The Award was in recognition of the Company’s continued efforts to propagate excellence and effective service delivery in the mortgage sector in Kenya and Africa.

Africa Housing Awards is an initiative that is aimed at celebrating excellent achievements of individuals and companies in the housing and construction industry. The award follows KMRC’s recognition as the Most Innovative Housing PPP awarded to KMRC during the AUHF inaugural Affordable Housing Awards, held in October 2023.

The core mandate of KMRC is to provide long-term funds to primary mortgage lenders (PMLs) for purposes of increasing availability of affordable home loans to Kenyans. KMRC also spearheads other initiatives including favorable policy recommendations, creating linkages between supply and demand sides and providing platforms to further fuel the development of the housing finance sector in Kenya. As a result, the key achievements of the Company have continued to garner attention across Africa.
